OUTDOOR EDUCATION NATURALIST – NEW JERSEY
Camp Mason seeks individuals for positions teaching groups of students in outdoor, environmental and recreational activities. Duties include planning and teaching classes to groups of students 10 – 14 yrs. old; supervising outdoor recreation activities; assisting with curriculum development and planning; when needed, assisting with cleaning and preparation of camp facilities. Requirements: Degree or major in Environmental Science, Education, or related field; must be comfortable outdoors and familiar with outdoor recreation and natural sciences; capable of supervising children; some knowledge of at least 3 key curriculum subjects. Camp All Saints right on Lake Texoma and is owned and operated by the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas. We have a robust outdoor education program that works with 5th grade students and a Christian summer program. For our JOLT program we teach topics covering wilderness survival, trees, fossils, animal tracking, wetland health and weather, to name some. We also have a great selection of low and high challenge course elements; experience in those areas is a plus, as is experience with waterfront activities such as swimming, canoeing (ect.). Our program operates from February through December, breaking for January. Employment is full time, with some evening and weekend work required. The Ranger provides facilitating services and security of campers and staff while the site is in session. Responsible for the effective supervision of part-time maintenance staff; ensures that the site conforms to health and safety regulations, in addition to preventing or minimizing danger from fire or other accidents.
