Pfeifer Kiwanis Camp is accepting applications for male and female counselors to begin in September 2011 until July 31, 2012. Pfeifer Camp is an educational, residential camp for at-risk youth ages 8-14. The Alternative Classroom Experience, has won local, national, and international awards, and was named a national Exemplary Substance Abuse Prevention Program. AmeriCorps Counselors must live at the camp from Sunday evening through Friday afternoon each week, are responsible for up to 10 campers in a cabins, lead them in all camp activities, tutor in the classroom and serve as parents, teachers, friends and mentors to their campers. Spend a semester with Camp Cho-Yeh serving as an Event Manager and play an integral role in building relationships and impacting lives through Christ-centered service. Cho-Yeh’s team of Event Managers partner with retreat group leaders and other Cho-Yeh team members to execute the logistics, activities and overall facilitation of events hosted at Camp Cho-Yeh. This position demands you to be highly relational, to think critically, to work within a team, and to be able to facilitate and debrief a variety of experiences. Event Managers will be trained on-site as Challenge Course Facilitators and American Red Cross Lifeguards. We are a camp for children and adults with special needs & serve ages 6-99 (no upper age limit). We are currently looking for people with a desire to work with our campers in the following positions: Counselor, responsible for assisting campers in camp activities and with activities of daily living.
