Highlighted this week is a blog called CampInsider.com. It is run by Eric Naftulin is the owner/operator of Aloha Beach and Surf Camp. While the look of the site may lack fancy formatting, he posts regularly, the content is fresh and valuable. I have found out about information happening in the American Camp Association that I would not have know otherwise.
Eric is also using this blog, and other inbound marketing techniques, to drive traffic to his camp web site. As we know, Google loves fresh content. He is making use of article databases, social network sites, and video to enhance his web site traffic. I have not seen other summer camps utilizing inbound marketing this broadly. Hopefully this will change in the near future as my 2009 speaking circuit takes me to several summer camp and parks and recreation conferences to speak about how summer camps, community recreation programs, and life long learning organizations can use technology to enhance their marketing and branding.
If you know of any or have a site you would like reviewed, let me know jennselke [at] gmail [dot] com.
